Gatherings Who's Hungry? is a bi-monthly gathering for artists and creatives. It is an extension of my creative practice and explores the concept of relational aesthetics and shared sites of participation, reflecting my ongoing interest in the artist’s role as host and facilitator, as well as the politics of hospitality, gathering, and co-creation across creative and cultural contexts. The project emerged from my lived experiences between Europe and the United Arab Emirates, while also echoing the ethos of the 1960s art movement known as Happenings (a term coined by Allan Kaprow) where art was experienced collectively, blurring the boundaries between artist and audience, work and life. Through the shared act of dining-and by using the architecture of the dining table to foster dialogue and community, Who's Hungry? transforms the meal into a participatory artwork. The line between collaborators and participants dissolves, allowing everyone to contribute to a shared ritual and collective experience. Much like how Happenings democratised art by taking it out of galleries and into everyday life, Who's Hungry? fosters an inclusive space that is accessible to all. The “pay what you can” model reflects this principle of democratisation, ensuring that creative practitioners from all economic backgrounds can participate fully, without the burden of financial constraints. The communal act of preparing, creating, curating, and sharing meals is not merely a form of connection but a method of inquiry. Who's Hungry? uses food as a tool to ask critical questions about how we gather, why it matters, and what forms of knowledge and exchange are valued. At its core, Who's Hungry? is a generative platform that embraces interdisciplinary collaboration and draws from a fluid, ever-evolving community of artists and creative contributors. Thank you to all the participants who contributed a photograph to London: In Passing. Your photographs formed an improvised archive of urban movement, perception, and memory, offering a counterpoint to formal archival narratives by foregrounding the subjective, the mundane, and the intimate. The collaborative work invites reflection on the act of noticing as both personal and political. Participants were not instructed on what to capture but were instead asked to share photographs of whatever drew their attention while moving through London. In doing so, each photograph becomes a trace of presence and a gesture of spatial authorship. By writing the location and date on the reverse, contributors situate each photograph within lived geography, allowing others to read it in both time and place. Placed in postcard racks, the format encourages direct, tactile engagement and offers an accessible, decentralised archive inviting viewers to turn the photographs around. This accumulation of perspectives aims to challenge dominant visual accounts of the city, creating space for alternative ways of seeing, remembering, and belonging. London: In Passing is an open and evolving work, which I hope to facilitate again on a larger scale. savannah https://savannahduquercy.com/Temporal-Traces Temporal Traces- (Series I) Temporal Traces is a body of work that explores the concept of the archive, approaching everyday objects as vessels: repositories of the experiences and temporalities they silently accumulate. All objects featured across the series were sourced from Deptford Market and local shops during fieldwork conducted in 2023 to 2024. The work adopts an anthropomorphic lens, treating these objects not merely as remnants of use but as silent witnesses to histories of movement, exchange and time. While rooted in human narratives, they are also framed as possessing their own trajectories, autonomous timelines that extend beyond ownership or intended function. The wall-based works are photographs mounted on envelopes, capturing the selected objects in motion during the image-making process. This intentional distortion produces amorphous forms, proposing a visual language for the objects’ internal archive, a poetic take on their invisible, affective histories or 'soul'. I was interested in how these internal histories, though intangible, could be evoked through material experimentation and image-making. Artwalks is an art trail/group exhibition using public spaces around Letchworth’s town centre throughout June 2024.)&nbsp; This work responds to Letchworth as the first Garden City in the world. Using my photographic documentation of the town, I created digital collages that explore architectonic forms through the repetition of images. I also incorporated a selection of artificial flowers, purchased from a local shop into the installation. Over several days of walking and informal conversations with residents, I observed the pride and care invested in both private and community gardens. The work reflects on this local culture of tending and cultivation, considering the garden not only as a material space, but as a symbol of civic imagination and collective care. 3 digital collages using my own photographs of Letchworth, synthetic flowers bought from local shop : Essentials Home Care (7 Leys Ave, Letchworth Garden City SG6 3EA, United Kingdom). The project was shaped by ongoing collaboration with local residents, shopkeepers, and community members, and emerged through informal interviews, casual conversations, and sustained material engagement with the area. Working exclusively with site-specific and found materials, including objects sourced from Deptford Market, discarded packaging, and photographic imagery gathered during fieldwork, the work explores the layered social, spatial, and historical textures of the neighbourhood. Rather than being guided by predetermined themes, the project evolved through an embedded, dialogic methodology that prioritised responsiveness, attentiveness, and co-authorship.These works would not have been possible without the openness of those who shared their time and knowledge.
